What Makes Diablo 3 Unique

Diablo 3 logoPossibly the most anticipated game in the last decade is Blizzard’s Diablo III. This hack-and-slash, action roleplaying game is a title that has amassed a following with over 10 million players over the years and you’d find it incredibly hard to find a PC gamer that hasn’t played the game before.

The Diablo game series and the genre in particular may not be appealing to everyone, but most players enjoy a good mindless slaughtering of zombies and skeletons and other devilish creatures. Diablo 3 continues the story of previous titles, and even has some familiar characters we’ve come across in Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, such as Deckard Cain. As I mentioned already, there are literally millions of players anticipating this game’s release and can’t wait to get their hands on this game.

There are many things that separate and make Diablo III different from other games in the genre, and even previous Diablo installments. Classes have been changed, as we now have access to Barbarian, Monk, Wizard, Witch Doctor and Demon Hunter. Undoubtedly more classes will be available for play with upcoming expansions.

Another difference that the game developers implemented in Diablo 3 is crafting. Similar to what you’ll find in many MMORP games, crafting helps you improve and get better equipment. Although it’s been relatively simplified in Diablo 3, it’s still a very important aspect of the game that should not be neglected.

Skills and skill trees work differently as well, which is why many players have been looking for the best class builds to help them improve their character’s performance. Since you can’t always use all of your abilities, there are hundreds of combinations you can have, particularly because every ability can further be improved with various runes and gemstones. Despite D3 having only five classes, this adds quite a bit of variety into the game and makes sure that nearly every character is unique in some way.

One other important new feature is the requirement for an internet connection: at all times you have to be connected to Battle.net servers in order to play this game. This is mostly done because the items you gain in the game can be sold on the auction house for real money, making grinding, farming and gold making quite important.

All of the above and many more is what makes Diablo III a game that will be played by millions of players and have a very active community for a long time. If you’re not one of them, you’re missing out on a ton of fun.
